WHAT IS A SIP ?:

SIP: Systematic Investment Plan

SIP is a plan under which you can invest a certain fixed amount every month in the equity market. Your amount gets invested into the stock market on your chosen SIP date.

Let us consider that you have decided to invest ₹1000 every month in ICICI Prudential Technology Direct Fund. It is basically a boon for the salaried people who are having the idea of investing. Every month the investor has to maintain ₹1000 as their balance to be invested in the scheme.

According to SEBI, the maximum SIP amount can be any amount as per the investor's choice. the minimum SIP amount is ₹500. But certain Mutual fund schemes have a minimum SIP amount of ₹100 too.  Through SIP you can invest in the equity market every month. You just need to maintain the balance so it will enforce discipline over a long period, like 20 years.

BENEFITS OF SIP:

  1. Establishes a discipline to invest regularly.
  2. Rupee Cost Averaging.
  3. Convenience for the investor.
  4. Power of Compounding: [Earning profits by investing your profits].
  5. Own more stocks in small quantities.
  6. Stop any time you want.

POWER OF COMPOUNDING:

Compound interest makes your money grow faster since interest is calculated both on the original principal as well as on the interest accumulated over time. The income earned from these investments, combined with the original investment, can create a snowball effect.
When it comes to saving, the 'Rule of 72' is a good rule of thumb for determining how long it will take to double your savings. Simply divide 72 by the expected rate of return.
For example, if your investments returned 6% annually, you would double your investment about every 12 years.

The more time, the more growth potential.

The higher your starting amount and the higher your investment return, the faster your savings compound. And over time, it can seriously add up. Saving early and often can put the power of compound growth in your favor by putting your money to work—so you don't have to!
